Images of Nature

Love, love, love, love this guy! His photographs are INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! I went to one of his galleries today and I just cannot get over how awesome his work is. I've been there before, so when I was in Park City I HAD to stop by. We bought one of his newest pieces. There are only going to be 950 prints of High Five (the picture we bought) made which is very low compared to other prints. It has only been on sale for 6 weeks and is selling like crazy. The saleswoman was amazing. There were no "sales gimmicks"; there didn't need to be; the art sells itself. If you are in the market for art, go here!!!

Porter's

While visiting my sister in Rexburg, ID, I went to the local craft store. With Rexburg being such a small town, there isn't too much there. But Porter's has EVERYTHING you would ever need for crafts!!! It's incredible how large this store is and how much they have there! I found things there that I have never seen before. But then again, perhaps I wasn't looking for it elsewhere. Either way, this store is amazing and is all you would ever need to find materials for crafting. Forget Michael's, forget Robert's. Porter's is awesome!!!

Cafe Fresh

Very tasty. Very healthy. This place is a great one. Sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit, soup, smoothies. It's not a bunch of processed stuff. The cafe is adorable. The workers are great. The menu options are amazing. I can't wait to go back and try something else. It's awesome! This isn't exactly the most descriptive or articulate post. But trust me; this place is good!

Bella Ella Boutique

This store is so cute! The things there are absolutely adorable. They have all sorts of things - necklaces, bracelets, hair accessories, shirts, rings, etc. I ended up buying some earrings and a crocheted hair clip. They have stuff for little girls, big girls, women, etc. Such cute stuff. Cute is really the best word for it. (So if you don't like cute, this place isn't for you.) So yeah, cute, cute, cute!!!!!!!!!

Christy's

At first I wasn't very excited to go to this place. I figured it would just be another home decor store and I've been to a thousand of them recently. I own too many things to decorate my home with because I keep finding all these awesome decorations at stores. However, I was NOT disappointed when I arrived at Christy's. Not only do they have home decor, they have antiques. I'm not really big into buying antiques (they either seem to cost a lot or they look like something for an old ladies house and I'm not that old yet :) But I LOVE looking at antiques. Dressers, tools cupboards, picture frames made out of old barns. It was so fun! They also had some dishes there (not antiques) that I fell in love with. Too bad we aren't in the market for new dishes. And when they are priced per piece it ends up being quite the expensive set. Sigh. Maybe someday. But you should totally go to Christy's and see what you think. To quote Reading Rainbow: Don't take my word for it.

Fast Food Taste Test

Ryan and I went to 6 different fast food places, bought the value menu burger and fries at each location and then did a taste test. Here are the results.

To get a little more specific...

*McDonald's burger had two patties. Pretty average across the board.

*Burger King's burger had lettuce. The king is supreme!! Just taste! (Though I do know that their chicken nuggets are waaaay worse the McDonald's.

*Carl's Jr.'s looked pretty sad, but was one of the best tasting ones and the largest portion. The fries also cost more than the others.

*Arctic Circle's food looked great, but wasn't one of the better tasting ones. And the portions were some of the smallest. Also, like Carl's Jr, the fries cost more than the others. To Arctic Circle's defense, the burger was not smashed like some others were and the burger had bacon on it.

*Dairy Queen's burger was flat and soggy. Both items cost $1.50 instead of the $1 you find at other locations. I love their fries though. And they give the largest portion of fries.

*Wendy's burger, like McDonald's had two patties. Somewhat on the low end of the taste spectrum, but they also offer other foods like chili and baked potatoes that the other places don't offer.

Enjoy your burgers and fries!!!!

Choose You

This website is associated with the American Cancer Society. This website is all about helping people stay healthy. And we all know that exercise, eating right, not smoking, using sunscreen are ways to help prevent cancer. On this site, you can sign up for free. Then you set personal goals like eating less sweets, exercising more, loosing weight, smoking less, etc. You set the goal. This website is a great way to report back how you are doing on your goal. One way to help be successful is to be accountable. One option you can choose is to have someone else report back if you are completing your goal or not. (You can also choose to report back yourself on the honor system.) Another option is to pledge money against your goal. If you choose this option, you pick how much money you pledge (any amount). If you succeed in your goal for that week, you owe nothing. If you don't succeed, then the amount you pledge is donated to the American Cancer Society.) Friends and Family can make pledges on your goal as well. But don't worry, pledges are optional. You can still make goals and report back how you are doing without owing anyone any money. I find this website helpful, informative, motivating and it supports a worthwhile cause. Check it out for yourself.

Main Street Diner

This place is in St. Peters, MO. Not my normal location to write about, but I went here and was very impressed. The food was absolutely excellent. The service was good. The atmosphere is exactly what I like. It was such a fun little place to go for breakfast. They only serve breakfast and lunch, but they also do catering. This is a wonderful alternative to Denny's or IHOP. Less crowded, great food, better experience. If you ever find yourself 20 miles west of St. Louis, stop by for a bite. Yum.
